For this project we learned how to use a blurred subject to show motion in a photo. Here we changed ISO to auto and made our shutter speed 1/40, so the camera would take fewer photos a second and take blurrier photos. The number of our aperture was a larger number.

This was sharp action photography and we used this technique to capture people jumping. First we changed it to Tv, or shutter priority. We changed the shutter speed to 1/640 to be able to capture more in focus photos. To fix the lighting we changed ISO to auto, allowing the camera to change the amount of light entering the camera. We then set up the shot where there was a nice background and took the photo close to the ground to make the subject look higher.
These are the photos from our continuous movement portion of the project. These are the unedited photos from the sequential narrative. Taking these photos taught me how important planning all pieces of a story is, and that missing one scene can ruin the entire flow of a story. It also showed me that using multiple rules of composition leads to a better story with more quality photos. Finally it allowed me to understand how to use Photoshop to edit multiple photos quickly as well as in a way that keeps them all looking like they belong together.
The photo of the children is telling a story about a childhood crush and friendship, with two children who grew up together. This is told through the setting, the pillow fort, and their posture. I think the best part of the image is the composition because I think the fort does an excellent job framing the children. The photo of the girl is showing a girl leaving an abusive home. This is shown through the visual clues of the bruise and the time of day. I got a lot of feedback telling me to fix the lighting in the image by making the image lighter. I changed my photo to by making it lighter so the bruise was more prominent.
