In this project we had an hour to go out to a nearby street and take thirty photos with a focal point that met at least one of the rules of composition. I learned how to place your subject and will continue to use this when I only am shooting one focal point.

This was my first attempt at using the aperture feature on a dslr camera. This uses different f stops, which each allow you to focus more or less on the background of the photo using the size of the hole with the camera lense.
For this project we used placement and editing to make illusions that shared a message. These were the first photos we took. For this project we used photos to create an illusion that involved a message we wanted to share with the world. For my photo of the door handle I wanted to communicate that we are still striving for equality and everyone needs to work together and help so everyone has the same opportunities, which the door represented. The picture of the eye in the sky was made to show that you should try to see things from other people's perspectives and not get caught up in one viewpoint.
In this project I used the rules of composition while shooting photos that could later be edited to look spooky. We had to get at least 20 photos that were already creepy or could be edited or joined together to have an overall creepy effect. These are the three final photos from the spooky photo shoot that I edited using Photoshop and finalized. The doll photo was used because often times people find things that look similar to humans scary. The photo of the stairs has an infrared effect applied to it. The third photo uses the shape of a girl with horns to create something similar to a human, but not quite real.
I learned the techniques for toning, turning a photo black and white, and color select. I think the color select technique was my favorite, because it is a good way to create a clear focal point. I think I'd use the black and white for any photos I will want a dramtic look for, and the color select to help items contras
The intent of this photo shoot was to take pictures of texture and to use different angles and composition techniques to improve the photos. I practiced taking photos from a bird's eye angle, a worm's eye angle, as well as macro photos. The bird's eye photos are the ones I took from above, while the worm's eye photos are from beneath the subject. The macro photos were extreme close ups. I also practiced finding interesting texture in the world around me in both nature and man made settings.
These are thirty pictures that I took to represent nine different rules of composition. These are some of the key components to make a photo strong, and visually pleasing. There are also three pictures of me. I chose these images because I believed they displayed the different composition techniques best. The rules of composition shown are depth of field, strong diagonals, fill the frame, framing, leading lines, repetition, rule of odds, symmetry, and viewpoint.
